Product Information

A light dependent resistor (LDR), also known as a photoresistor, is a component whose resistance changes with the intensity of ambient light. When light shines on the photoresistor, the photon energy excites the electrons in the photosensitive material, causing them to jump into the conduction band, causing the resistance value to change. The resistance value of the photoresistor is inversely proportional to the light intensity. The stronger the light, the smaller the resistance value; the weaker the light, the greater the resistance value.
