The electrical characteristics of an inductor are opposite to those of a capacitor, “passing low frequencies and blocking high frequencies”. High-frequency signals are difficult to pass through, while the resistance presented to low-frequency signals is small. The resistance presented by an inductor to a current signal is what we call “inductance” for short.
